Key layout
The key contains 18 magnetic dots (3 rows of 6 dots), each of which can be positively or negatively magnetized.
The column closest to the key handle isn't used. The center row (+-+-+) isn't used to encode information, but to control the key insertion. Thus, 10 bits are used to encode the key, meaning there are a total of 1023 (exclude code "0") different variations.
